What is My Shoes Hurt? Who are Zane and Dave? Do either of them like squirrels and/or birds? Let Zane explain:

Thanks for visiting My Shoes Hurt, a podcast about friendship and nonsense.

I’m Zane and David is my BFFF since the fifth grade. We grew up in small town Indiana, then

we were roommates in Ohio before I joined the Air Force and David decided to have enough

kids to start his own basketball team and do a bunch other cool stuff. Now, with both of us forty-ish

and having thirty-five-ish years of friendship, we would like to share what we’ve learned about

friendship and how we both function in different situations as friends, or just people out in the

wild. We also like to dig deep into what friendship means.

WARNING: Our senses of humor never matured beyond the fifth grade and we still,

occasionally, laugh at farts and pee. David and I do not apologize for the views we express

towards any subject—this is because My Shoes Hurt is heavily edited, by David, who has sworn

with his own blood on a Bible in a Courthouse that he would edit anything that could cost us a

job on SNL. However, even with this being fully covered, we would like to apologize for all

juvenile and very stupid things we say. On occasion, we say things that may make us seem like

we’re just a couple of morons or idiots. Well, we’re not. I have an online degree and David is

really good with computers. He has been the guy to go to for any computer question since

computers first came out. It’s his job now. And I wake up early in the morning and feed the birds

and squirrels. David likes birds and squirrels too. Do any of those things sound like something

two idiots would do? It doesn’t to me.

The idea for My Shoes Hurt came to us in a dream. We both dreamed the same dream. I thought

to myself, How in the fuck could this be? Two people can’t dream the same dream. Then we

agreed the best thing would be to record ourselves talking about friendship and nonsense.

Thanks again for visiting and we hope you enjoy My Shoes Hurt!

The opening/closing theme is an excerpt from the song Out Come the Sun by You & Me Both from the EP of the same name. You can check them (it’s really just one dude, Dave’s buddy Westy) out here.
